Item Description
A 3.0 cm terminated, beautiful teal-green, gemmy/translucent apatite crystal with satin lustre faces and textbook hexagonal form is jauntily set on the blocky calcite matrix. The calcite is composed of both scalenohedrons and massive calcite. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 9973 and acquired from the Cisneros's in the early 1980s. Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). A classic and showy matrix combination from the locale.
