Fluorapatite on Calcite

Item Description

A pretty triad of gemmy and lustrous, yellow-green fluorapatite crystals is dramatically frozen on the side of contrasting orange calcite. The primary crystal is 4.3 cm and all are doubly terminated with the terminations having a distinctive melted look. As with most such specimens, sold commercially, the friable matrix has been stabilized by the collector in a diluted glue. This is aesthetic for the locality.
