Fluorapatite on Albite

Attractive, sharp, well-formed, lustrous, hexagonal crystals of Fluorapatite measuring up to 1.6 cm across, sitting on bladed white Albite (var: Cleavelandite) with associated Muscovite on this eye-catching small cabinet specimen from the famous Sapo Mine. These are some of the distinctive crystals of Fluorapatite you'll see as they have not only a unique green hue, but they often show color zoning, like this piece, with a darker hue in the center that transitions into nearly colorless on the peripheral edges. If you look closely, you can see some beautiful small modifying pyramidal beveled faces on the crystals, giving them a beautiful appearance. No major damage, I can see a few dings on a couple crystals, but overall it's in good shape. These are seldom seen on the market, this particular piece is from the discovery in 2002.
