Item Description

From a BRAND NEW find a few months ago in 2016, we were happy to pick up this beautiful little thumbnail specimen. When we were first presented with this piece, I had to make sure it wasn't an Amethyst due to the fact that you don't see a lot of prismatic crytals of Fluorapatite from this area, they're usually tabular. Fluorapatite is rarely seen in GEM quality transparent crystals, but we certainly have one right here, plus it has the most highly sought after color for the species! A a sharp, lustrous, WATER-CLEAR, prismatic, hexagonal crystal of Fluorapatite with a lively purple color, plus a small secondary sidecar crystal. This hue is what collectors and dealers consider to be the most desirable color for Apatite. A wonderful example of this gorgeous new material.
