Item Description
From a new find in 2019, here we have a lovely blue Fluorapatite specimen, not from the typical Merelani Hills area, but a new place called Namalulu. The piece is more tabular in habit that the blue Apatites from the Tanzanite region as this particular crystal is thick, but not prismatic. It shows a few modifying pyramidal faces, with a pronounced "c" pinacoid face on the front. It's not 100% complete, but it still shows good crystal form and looks nice as displayed. The color is a lovely blue shade with a slight greenish overtone. There is a bit of gemminess when it's backlit. A good piece for anybody who collects thumbnails, Apatites or Tanzanian minerals. Specimen weight is 6.09 grams.
