Item Description

This is a nice combination piece from the most important Fluorapatite locality in Europe: Panasqueira. These two-tone green Crystals have the textbook hexagonal shape, and they are lustrous and translucent-to-gemmy. It is largely complete all around, with Fluorapatites on both sides of the large Ferberite crystal. There are microcrystalline Pyrites to add sparkle and interest, and the largest Fluorapaptite is 4.7 cm. Naturally, there is a little bit of contacting, but it has little effect on the fine aesthetics. The Fluorapatites do fluoresce a ghostly yellow-white, as expected. This old specimen would date to the 1960s or 1970s heyday here, having long been considered among the top European classics. valued $2500
