Item Description

An unusual specimen of Apatite from the Sapo Mine with unique crystallization and form. The piece has a soft green color, with bright lustrous faces, and a bizarre three-dimensional form. It's hard to photograph, and honestly looks better in person, and truly does not resemble any other Apatite that I've seen from this locality. The piece comes from Paolo Matioli, and his label calls the piece a "sapato" & "pombo", which translate into shoe and pigeon respectively. Perhaps he thought the piece resembled a shoe or a pigeon in form...
