Item Description
From the collection of Paolo Matioli, simply labeled as coming from Minas Gerais, Brazil, this is a very interesting and unusual Fluoraptite specimen. The piece resembles a worm or a caterpillar with a somewhat tubular curving form, but it's even more interesting upon closer look as it's actually HOLLOW inside! The Apatites obviously must have formed around a mineral that was dissolved away, creating this bizarre "cast". It comprises many rather lustrous, sharp, prismatic, soft yellow-green color crystals in parallel growth, which obviously have flowed in the form of whatever preexsiting species was in the center. A really cool and unique specimen from this most famous mineral producing region.
