Item Description

A classic example of the famous Fluorapatite crystals from the Yates mine in Canada. This crystal is a fine quality, robust, thick, sharp, lustrous, well-formed, doubly-terminated hexagonal prism with the classic-green hue (with some brownish zoning), free of matrix. The piece is in good shape all around, despite a few small nicks, but you rarely see big single doubly-terminated crystals like this on the market from this locality. The Yates Mine is now completely defunct, as it was recently bulldozed and buried, so be sure to pick this one up for a great price. Valued in the inventory at $1,000. Originally from the collection of Leigh Price, with a label from the Krotki Collection.
