Item Description
This mine has produced some gorgeous, albeit small examples of Fluorapatite. This piece is a lovely small cabinet from this well-known Li-rich pegmatite featuring beautiful purple color hexagonal crystals of Fluorapatite sitting on the underlying iron-stained feldspar matrix. Classic material, and very difficult to find on the market these days. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6002). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
