Item Description

A rarely seen example of crystallized Fluorapatite from the famous, historic Pribram region in the Czech Republic. This piece comes to us from noted Czech mineral expert, Josef Vajdak, and the handwritten label accompanying the piece states that it's from the Vojtech Mine, though I cannot find a listing of the species being reported from there. I trust the source completely, and I'm sure it's accurate. The piece was found in 2004 according to the label. It feature a few small (about 2-3 mm) pale pink tabular hexagonal crystals on orebody matrix. Very hard to find on the market, and it's honestly the only Fluorapatite we've seen from Pribram. A cool specimen for any Apatite collector, or a collector of minerals from this famous silver / lead / zinc producing region. This piece comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value. You can read Joe's biography here: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1371
