Item Description
A beautiful display specimen of Fluorapatite from Pakistan featuring a sharp, lustrous, pale pink color hexagonal prism measuring 2.8 cm with additional Fluorapatite crystals aesthetically intermixed with silvery-golden colored Muscovite and minor black Schorl. The main Apatite crystal is actually doubly-terminated, and shows no major damage anywhere. The next largest Apatite on the specimen is technically doubly-terminated as well, but one end has a bit of an interrupted and stepped termination, so it's not as easy to see. One rarely encounters such showy examples of this material from Pakistan, and based upon the style, I would say that this piece is from a discovery in the mid 1990s. Valued at $750 for displayability and quality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11473). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020.
