Item Description
A wonderful miniature display specimen of these famous Fluorapatites from the King Lithia Mine in South Dakota. The piece hosts a handful of lustrous, sharp, sparkling, translucent, rich purple colored, hexagonal Apatites measuring up to 3 mm on matrix. I'm impressed at the saturation of color in the Apatites despite their smaller size. These specimens are certainly hard to find anywhere on the market, and would make a great addition to any suite US minerals, worldwide Apatites or general phosphates. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#7443). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
