Item Description
Horní Slavkov (formerly Schlaggenwald) in the Czech Republic is one of the great old European localities. It's known for a large number of classic species, but it doesn't get enough credit for its fine quality Fluorapatites that were found in a wide range of colors. This piece is a very nice specimen featuring attractive, gemmy, lustrous, steel-blue colored prismatic crystals measuring to about 8 mm, on matrix. The crystals show a bit of a bi-color appearance with a darker hue on each end, and a lighter tone in the center. There are micro nicks when the piece is viewed up close, but nothing major. An attractive example of these antique specimens from this famous locality.
