Item Description

Classic, gemmy and lustrous, yellow-green, fluorapatite crystals are very richly scattered on this impressive large mounded matrix specimen from this noted Mexican locality. The large terminated crystal is 4.3 cm. The internal veils in some of the textbook hexagonal crystals cause striking rainbow effects in bright light. This famed locale is featured in the Mexico-VI issue of the Mineralogical Record. Yes, there are broken crystals, but it is essentially impossible to collect pristine specimens of this richness and size, due to the very hard matrix. Excellent, old-time material from the Dennis Mullane Collection.
