Item Description

Gemmy, yellow-green fluorapatite crystals from Cerro de Mercado are a classic Mexico species and this is a very fine matrix example. A sharply terminated, glassy, 2.8 cm crystal is aesthetically set on quartz matrix with a bit of hematite. Nearly pristine in the display view, with only the most trivial of termination edge bruising. The contact on the back of the crystal is out of sight. This noted locale is featured in the recent Mexico-VI issue of the Mineralogical Record. Excellent timing for a beautiful and aesthetic specimen. From the noted Mexico collection of Jason New. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!
