Fluorapatite and Actinolite (polished)

Item Description

RARE large combination specimen from this obscure Pennsylvania quarry opened in 1986 - Silver Hill Quarry. Both sides of the sawed slab of chatoyant, green Actinolite host sculptural diverging clusters of bi-colored Fluorapatite crystals. The apatite crystals, up to 4.0 cm long, have translucent green areas and opaque flesh-colored areas. Collected and formerly in the Joe Dague Collection of Pennsylvania. Ex George Loud Collection No. 8384 and gifted to George by Joe in 2006.
