Item Description
From world-famous Knappenwand, which has produced the most iconic Epidote crystals in the world, we have this excellent Fluorapatite thumbnail. The largest Fluorapatite is 1 cm across, and it rests on a bed of small Apatites, themselves on a green matrix of what is likely chloritic schist mixed with some Epidote. The tabular Fluorapatites are gemmy and clear, with perhaps just the tiniest amount of Byssolite needle inclusions, which would add to the interest and the aesthetics. From the collection of the famed French collector Eric Asselborn, this very appealing thumbnail was #9005 in Kay's collection.
