Item Description
Here we have a cool large toenail / small miniature sized specimen of Fluorapatite from the famous Sapo Mine from circa 2005. The crystal on this specimen is a notably tabular hexagonal example of Fluorapatite with a mossy green hue, and virtually colorless zoning on the exterior edged. The crystal has sharp, lustrous faces with decent translucency when backlit. I love the pyramidal modifications on both sides of the crystal. Minor Muscovite and Albite can be seen at the base for a nice touch. There are some nicks in a handful of spots, so the piece is not undamaged, but if you collect Apatites, phosphate or Brazilian minerals, this is a still a nice example from this well-known mine. It appears that Sapo may never produce these attractive specimens of unusual Apatite again, so don't miss out.
