Fluor-uvite - Uvite Series (Tourmaline)

For many years, we labeled all these specimens as Uvite Tourmaline, but it's important to note that these crystals are now defined as being part of the Fluor-uvite - Uvite series, and unfortunately they cannot be distinguished visually. With that said, it appears that most pieces that were labeled previous as Uvite are likely to be Fluor-uvite, but we are labeling these specimens going forward as Fluor-uvite - Uvite series. This crystal is a fine example of this classic material featuring a single prism with high luster, razor-sharp faces, excellent gemminess and a lovely greenish gold interior color. The termination is completely pristine, but there is a separation mark along the lower portion of the crystal where it grew against either another Tourmaline crystal or the pocket wall. It's still a fine quality thumbnail of these world-class "Uvite" crystals.
