Item Description
Fluoborite is a rare anhydrous Mg-borate and this old-timer is from the Type Locality, where specimens of ANY species are rare. The paper arrow points toward a 6 mm felted aggregate of pearlescent prisms. The sculptural matrix wedge is massive ludwigite, a rare Mg-Fe borate. The paper label on the piece has a 1926 date, the discovery year of the species! This is possibly a piece of the type material. Ex Stockholm University Collection to the Swedish Museum of Natural History. Ex Matioli Collection. Value of such a fine combination rarity from the Type Locality with an excellent provenance??
