Item Description
Fluellite is a fairly rare hydrated aluminum fluoro phosphate only found in a few dozen places on earth. This piece is from the Tuscarora Mine in Utah, and Fluellite interestingly is the only mineral species reported from the locality. This toenail sized specimen is a decent reference piece featuring partial crystals of white / colorless Fluellite sitting on Muscovite matrix. An interesting and certainly hard to find specimen from this little known mine in far northeastern Utah. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10252). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020. See the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record ( https://www.mineralogicalrecord.com/pdfs/Kay%20Robertson%20Collection.pdf ), and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017.
