Item Description

A rarely seen specimen of the hydrated aluminum fluoro phosphate, Fluellite, which was named in 1824 for its chemical composition (a fluate of alumine in French - mindat.org). This piece hosts an exposed vug lined with hundreds of micro crystals of sparkling brown Fluellite on matrix. The crystals are beautiful to view up close, but you need some decent magnification to see them best. This is the only specimen of Fluellite that we've had to offer from this specific locality, but overall Fluellites from Kapunda are notably hard to find on the market.
Ex Gerry Morvell collection.
