Flos Ferri (stalactitic cave Aragonite)

A striking, old-time, hydra-like nest of snow-white, "flos ferri" or cave aragonite from Carinthia, Austria. All of the larger tentacles or stalactites have cupped and lightly tinted brown terminations! Very bizarre! Such pieces appear to defy gravity, with all of the directions they grow. Carinthia flos ferri is very rare and is seldom on the market. This fine older piece comes with a faded Schortmanns label. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock.
