An attractive large thumbnail sized specimen of Magnesite from Brumado. This locality is a giant mountain that is filled with superb quality specimens Magnesite (used commercially for flux in manufacturing / purifying steel). This mine has produced some of the finest Magnesite specimens in the world, and does not get the credit it deserves. This specimen features a 3 mm predominant, sharp, red colored crystal of the rare phosphate Florencite-(Ce) sitting on gemmy colorless rhomb of Magnesite. Overall in good shape, with only a slight amount of edge wear. A good specimen of this well known and underappreciated material from Brazil. Ex Paolo Matioli Collection.
