Item Description
This is absolutely one of the most aesthetic and sculptural copper miniatures, that we have offered at auction. The form of the branching, dentritic spinel-twinned crystals is spectacular, as is the variable rich copper patina. This superbly crystallized cutie looks great from either side and the base of the floater also looks great! No support needed at all. Outstanding copper from the Northwestern Mine. The Northwestern Mine was organized in 1845, was worked intermittently until 1865 when all work ceased and was then absorbed by the famous Central Mining Company. This piece was recently discovered from the waste rock piles of the mine. Textbook Copper Country copper.
