Item Description

An excellent floater example of this odd "trigonal" habit of rhodochrosite, lustrous, translucent, complete all around and pristine. It was obtained directly from Ernie Schlicter who collected the pocket in the late 1970's. These rare specimens of flat rhodochrosite from Poudrette Quarry are twinned. See Mineralogical Record 14:363-4 and 21:332-3.. Seldom seen on the market, and valued $400-500
