Item Description

Well-crystallized pyrite is quite rare from the renowned Tsumeb Mine, as iron is scarce. Crystals larger than a few mm are RARE. This is a floater cluster of highly distorted and etched, lustrous brass-yellow, stepped-growth, cubes or possibly pyritohedrons (its hard to tell) to 2.1 cm. Outstanding for what it is, older material from the Jaime Bird Collection, dating to the 1960s or 70s. A must for the locality or species collector. valued $200-250
