Item Description

A very rare, perhaps unique, large floater cluster of gypsum crystals from a bank foundation excavation in La Mesa. MINDAT does not list ANY mineral species for La Mesa! The thick tabular, tapered tan crystals are lustrous and translucent. A striking, complete all-around and essentially pristine, two-sided specimen. Some crystals have contacted edges, but have no damage, per se. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and fomerly in the collection of Bob Came of La Mesa, according to Bob's label. A unique example of urban California mineralogy. A MUST for the locality or species collector!
