Item Description

A sculptural and aesthetic, 360-degree, intergrown, floater cluster of lustrous, mostly opaque with some translucent edges, sharp brown gypsum spearpoint blades from the famous Great Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge, near Jet, Oklahoma. The crystals have the "sand" inclusions, for which the locality is renowned for. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only two gently scuffed tips noted, which are certainly modest detractions. Highly representative of this noted locale. It is almost impossible to find a totally pristine specimen of this soft material. The locality on the 1960s-70s era label is way off. Ardmore, Oklahoma is about 175 miles southeast of Jet.
