Item Description

Floater fluorite cubes from the famous Illinois-Kentucky Fluorspar District are very rare and are highly desirable. This wsa in the collection of Marty Zinn for many years. Then, it was in the Charlotte Sussman fluorite collection. Aesthetically accented with galena and rubyjack sphalerite crystals, this combination adds to the desirability. This very sharp, lustrous, cube with rich deep purple color has frosted or steppe-growth faces. The 9 mm metallic galena cube perched on an edge is striking, as are the gemmy, rubyjack sphalerite crystals found on only one face. The backlit photo highlights the rich color saturation and partial translucence of the cube. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only very trivial edgewear and cornerwear, this is an exceptional and unique style of fluorite from here. Valued $500-750. Ex Marty Zinn Collection.
