Item Description

Dravite Tourmaline is well-known from this locality and has furnished some of the finest and largest examples of the species. Deceptive, as the dodecahedral crystal with trapezohedral faces looks like a Garnet Species, but is not. The lustrous dark brown crystal has striking beautiful golden-yellow translucent areas under bright light. Complete all-around, the floater crystal is in great shape. The bit of embedded mica and a couple of small corner and edge bruises are certainly only modest detractions. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 1984. 778 grams or 1.7 pounds mass. A showy and highly representative 360-degree example with textbook crystal form. Fairly uncommon today.
