Item Description
An outstanding floater barite crystal cluster from the Sherman Tunnel, near Leadville, Colorado. The parallel-growth, tabular crystals have rich golden color, high luster, translucence and striking serrated edges. Nearly pristine, with only trivial scattered edge and corner wear. These barites are generally conceeded to be Colorados finest and this is a very fine example. This closed silver mine produced ore intermittently from 1968-1982.
