Item Description

This is a wonderful big showy polished slice of Striped Flint (sometimes called "Picture Flint") from the Śródborze locality in Poland. These pieces are well-known in Poland and throughout Europe, but few people know about it in the United States. The large specimen is very picturesque and resembles the banded lines of Agate or even Petrified Wood with alternating light and dark beige/brown "bands" enclosed in host rock matrix. The piece shows a wonderful yellowish fluorescence under SW UV light as well. The outer "rind" is complete all around, no damage and very showy. Specimen weight is 279.7 grams.
