Several years ago, there was a surge in the price of Fire Opal as fine quality material seems to be more and more difficult to obtain, especially in a vivid stone like this one. This gem has a beautiful, saturated reddish-orange color with an "Oval Cabochon" cut. In strong reflected light, the stone actually shows a slight color flash, as there is a bright green reflection that floats over the surface. Good color and quality, and not nearly as common on the market now as they were 20+ years ago.
