Item Description
Some of the most well known Fire Opal in the world is from Mexico. These stones are among some of the biggest, brightest and most intense color Fire Opals from North America. There has been a surge in the price of fine quality Fire Opal from Mexico in the last few years, as the material seems to be more and more difficult to obtain, especially in such vivid stones like this one. The gem in this set has a beautiful orange and yellow color banding with an "Emerald" cut and is virtually eye clean. The stone has the typical "jelly" apearance that you find in these stones. It's a BIG stone for the material, and the alternating color banding is very attractive. The piece of rough is like a single "egg" of orange Fire Opal that glows with color when backlit. A really nice rough and cut set of this well-known material.
