Fire Opal / Precious Opal (cut and carved by Allyce Kosnar)

Some of the most attractive and impressive Fire Opals have come out of Mexico These gems are probably the most well known Fire Opal / Jelly Opal / Precious Opal from anywhere in North American. This one-of-a-kind "Round Cabochon" cut gem is essentially colorelss, and has the sought after "jelly" appearance that Fire Opals are known for, but the most important aspect of the gem is that it has unique concave carving on both sides of the stone creating a very pleasing "natural" appearance of water droplets and tree branches incorporated directly into the stone itself. This work was done completley by hand by Allyce Kosnar of Mineral Classics. It's a very attractive stone, and would make a great piece of jewelry, or would stand on its own as a beautiful gem.
