Mexican Fire Opal is some of the best known material out there. It comes in a myriad of colors and the material is creating quite a stir in the business again as it seems to be having a rebirth because I've seen it a lot more at jewelry shows and on home shopping television jewelry shows. This material is used in gemstones, cabochons, carving and beads usually. This particular piece is a very attractive rich orange color carving of a Sea Turtle on matrix with good detail and even shows a few spots of color flash here and there.
