Item Description
A exceptionally colorful, rich and outstanding "turkey fat" smithsonite from Rush. Curved saddle-shaped dolomite rhombs have been pseudomorphed by tiny sharp rich yellow-orange smithsonite crystals included with some of the richest color greenockite, cadmium sulfide, we have seen. The crystal separation is also noteworthy on this very choice and rare color style specimen from the Kay Robertson Collection # 7906. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). Fairly valued at $1500-2000.
