Fine Gem Tanzanite crystal

An impressive, sculptural, gemmy, full small cabinet-sized tanzanite crystal. The dramatically asymmetrical termination is a highlight of this beautiful glassy, lustrous, well-striated piece. Much of the crystal is water-clear gem with other areas being translucent or included with brown clay minerals. The crystal exhibits classic, textbook pleochroism. The A and B axes are the beautiful, blue and blue-violet. This is indicative of the natural unheated state of color. The red to red-brown colors noted are from the included clays. The crystal GLOWS, when back lit! This is a wonderful and pristine, 360-degree untreated tanzanite with striking textbook colors and very interesting form. 28 grams mass. Comes with a custom-maded and engraved lucite base valued at $145, for free. Gemmy, classic and excellent larger tanzanite valued at $7500-10,000 (previous owner had paid $12,500 when they came out in more quantity years ago, and though many more have come since, it remains a very high quality and SHARP specimen)
