Item Description
Veins of fibrous sugilite running through and crowning the layered manganese ore miniature matrix make for a showy and colorful example of this rarity. Electric-purple color on the top plus the layering really sets the piece off. Fibrous texture sugilite is rare. Sugilite is a rare very complex lithium silicate and is a member of the Osumilite Group. Most specimens are massive and make very colorful lapidiary material. It is very hard to obtain specimens of this quality today. An exceptional miniature from the 2016-17 finds at the N'Chawaning III Mine
