Item Description
Beautiful shimmering chatoyant electric purple color fibrous sugilite richly covers all sides of this striking, most colorful thumbnail. Sugilite is a rare very complex lithium silicate and is a member of the Osumilite Group. Fibrous texture sugilite is RARE, as most specimens are massive. Crystallized sugilite is also rare. The massive variety makes very colorful lapidiary material. It is very hard to obtain specimens of this quality today. An exceptional thumbnail from the 2016-17 finds at the N'Chawaning III Mine.
