Item Description
Chatoyant fibrous sugilite and matte violet sugilite richly and colorfully covers all sides of the hefty manganite ore matrix slab. The fantastic boxwork on one face with isolated shimmering fibrous balls is a dramatic highlight. Sugilite is a rare very complex lithium silicate and is a member of the Osumilite Group. Most specimens are massive and make very colorful lapidiary material. It is very hard to obtain specimens of this quality today. An exceptional small cabinet combination from the 2016-17 finds at the N'Chawaning III Mine.
