Item Description

Ferronigerite-2N1S is a rare complex Al-Fe-Zn-Al-Sn oxide found in metamorphosed sedimentary rocks and pegmatites. A sharp, moderately lustrous, 6 mm trigonal, tabular, hexagonal dark brown crystal with flashy orange-red sections is aesthetically set upright on the contrasting thumbnail matrix. "The Three Aloes Mine is a granitic rare metal pegmatite and the Nigerites that were found in this area have set a new worldwide standard for the species" (MINDAT).
