Item Description
This very rare complex multiple oxide with Al-Fe-Zn & Sn was originally named Nigerite, for the type locality in Nigeria. It was renamed as Ferronigerite-2N1S in 2002, according to the new Nigerite group nomenclature as the Fe dominant mineral and the 2N1S polysome (MINDAT). Specimens from this obscure tin-rich altered granite are VERY RARE. A 2 mm platy, lustrous, translucent wine-red crystal is nicely set on the blocky feldspar matrix. SELDOM on the market from this locale. Fersman Museum of Moscow label
