Ferrokësterite (very rare and superb)

A superb rarity from famous San Jose Mine in Oruro, Bolivia. This piece was mined in 2002, and is one of the richest and finest example of this now incredibly hard to find material that we've had to offer. It features many fine quality, well-formed, sharp, lustrous, metallic dark grey-black crystals of the very rare copper iron tin sulfosalt, Ferrokësterite with minor accenting Quartz. It's incredibly rare to find ONE crystal of this material, let alone a robust group with at least two dozen crystals like this. This species is exceptionally hard to find in nature, especially in EYE-VISIBILE crystals, and the San Jose Mine produced unquestionably the finest examples of Ferrokësterite in the world, as all other examples are micros, and do not show this kind of supreme crystallization. There were very few of these specimens, and this one comes directly from Brian Kosnar's personal Bolivian collection, as he obtained it at the mine when it was found. Valued $3,000.
