Item Description
Ferrimolybdite is rare from the old extinct mines of this well-known Utah district. Ferrimolybdite is an uncommon secondary mineral commonly formed from the alteration of molybdenite. A very rich, 3.7 cm knob of light yellow fibrous ferrimolydite strikingly accented with brilliant silver-metallic molybdenite plates is aesthetically set on the sculptural granular quartz matrix richly peppered with more ferrimolydite. Very choice, rich and rare Utah combination material from the Dennis Mullane Collection and comes with a Filers label dating from 1949 to 1956. Valued at $500.
