"Fern" Copper (classic locale)

Item Description

A very sculptural fern-shaped, flattened floater copper specimen from Ajo. The striking isolated "fern" leafs and base have spinel-twinned form and are comprised of intergrown stacked subhedral to anhedral spinel-twins and tetrahexahedral crystals. A most unusual copper style from Ajo. Ajo specimens are far less common from those from Bisbee or Morenci and other famous Arizona localities. From an East Coast collection and comes with a label from an obscure Mesa, Arizona dealer.
