Item Description
Fergusonite is an ULTRA-RARE oxide which can contain rare earth minerals cerium, lanthanum, neodymium, niobium or yttrium. This very rich specimen is a moderately ugly lump at first glance - but made of highly lustrous, platy brown crystals. Old-time, very seldom available material from the Baringer Hill pegmatite in Llano County, Texas. This particular deposit has been under Lake Buchanan since 1938, and so a specimen like this is VERY RARE material from this locale. Comes with an expertly written, faded accession label from an old museum collection we traded into ( dating to prior to World War I).
