Item Description

Please note that Fergusonite was once considered a solitary valid species, but has since been split into three species: Fergusonite-(Ce), Fergusonite-(Nd) and Fergusonite-(Y) respectively. It's impossible to know for certain specifically which species this piece is, and it would probably need microprobe analysis to determine its chemical content. The piece was labeled as coming from Madawaska, which is an incorporated township in eastern Ontario, Canada. The piece is a lustrous, rich brownish-black crystal group of Fergusonite free of matrix from. RARE on the market and certainly worth picking up if you collect rare earth pegmatite minerals.
